PhD, sociologist, post-doc researcher in the School of Geography at the University of Leeds where she is involved in the research project “Queer Memorials: International Comparative Perspectives on Sexual Diversity and Social Inclusivity (QMem)”.
Before joining University of Leeds she worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Humboldt University of Berlin, where she was involved in the project “Transforming Migration. Transnational Transfer of Multicultural Habitus” and CERGU – Centre for European Research at the University of Gothenburg where she conducted her research project “European fathers’ rights movement(s): between transnational and national dimensions”. She also worked as a Project Manager and Research Associate in the European research project “Evaluation of European Perpetrators Programmes” at Dissens – Institut für Bildung und Forschung e.V. in Berlin, Germany as a co-coordinator of “Work With Perpetrators – European Network” and a Teaching and Research Assistant at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. She studied sociology and gender studies in Poland, Germany, USA and Spain.
Her PhD thesis was dedicated to the men’s social movements in Poland. Her current scientific interests concentrate mostly on the sociology of gender , critical studies on men and masculinities, social movements studies and European studies. She has been a founder of the first university course on the sociology of masculinities in Poland as well as co-editor of one of the few sociological books on men and masculinities in the social research in Poland: Karuzela z mężczyznami. Problematyka męskości w polskich badaniach społecznych as well as three Special Issues focussed on men and masculinities research in Europe , Poland and beyond. She is also an (co)author of over 40 scientific articles and reports and co-editor of two other books. She has worked in over a dozen research projects focusing on gender and men and masculinities’ issues.
