Katarzyna Wojnicka TwitterPhD, sociologist, post-doc researcher at CERGU  – Centre for European Research at the University of Gothenburg where she conducts her research project “European fathers’ rights movement(s): between transnational and national dimensions”.

Before joining CERGU Katarzyna worked as a project manager and researcher in the European research project “Evaluation of European Perpetrators Programmes” at Dissens – Institut für Bildung und Forschung e.V. in Berlin, Germany as a co-coordinator of “Work With Perpetrators – European Network” and a teaching and research assistant at Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. She studied sociology and gender studies in Poland, Germany, USA and Spain.

Her PhD thesis was dedicated to the men’s social movements in Poland. Her current scientific interests concentrate mostly on the sociology of gender , critical studies on men and masculinities, social movements studies and European studies. She has been a founder of the first university course on the sociology of masculinities in Poland as well as co-editor of one of the few sociological books on men and masculinities in the social research in Poland: Karuzela z mężczyznami. Problematyka męskości w polskich badaniach społecznych as well as three Special Issues focussed on men and masculinities research in Europe , Poland  and beyond. She is also an (co)author of over 30 scientific articles and reports and co-editor of two other books.
